Can no longer travel with camera

Hello,

So recently I think I may have accidentally changed something which I did not want to in my game settings. When I have selected a sim, sometimes I'd like that sim to talk to someone while I explore the area. As I have City Living, my sim went to Geek Con, I invited some of his friends for him to talk to while I planned on scrolling around to see what Geek Con has to offer using my up, down, left and right keys. I used my down key for my camera to go backwards to look at a rocket ship, and then I noticed that my camera/my screen could not travel any further. It was like I could only look around within a small distance of my sim that I had selected. I tried turning on and off different settings, although I am not sure which setting to enable/disable for this issue to stop. Thank you

  • I did change the camera mode when it happened and it did not resolve the situation. I also pressed the reset game options on the game options tab and it didn't change anything, but I have not encountered this problem again so far so I think it might just be my bad laptop changing stuff. Thanks for your help (:

  • Hi @XaniMac,

Assuming you are playing on PC, is it possible you changed the camera mode from The Sims 3 to The Sims 4? You can try to change it again and see if that's the cause - you can find the option in the top right corner of the screen, under camera options.

If that doesn't help, I would recommend resetting the game options to default:

    1.- Close the game
2.- Go to Documents \ Electronic Arts \ The Sims 4 folder and move the 'Options' file to your Desktop. This is a backup of your current settings.
    3.- Open the game again.
4.- You can modify the settings again now.

If you are happy with the new settings, you can delete the Options file we moved to your Desktop.

Let us know if you have any questions.

    Welcome to the forums!
    -Mai
