Can you make dough and batter without the mixer?
I'm playing a decades challenge with the simple living trait and I'm only in the early 1900's where an electric mixer was not invented. Is there another way of getting batter and dough for recipes?

In Real Life you most certainly can. I have done it myself. I don't use a bread-maker for bread, either. Half the fun is doing it by hand, you know. Besides, what better way to get out your aggressions than by kneading bread by hand?- Well, I've got good news and no bad news.
Good news is that you don't need prepped ingredients for old recipes. Having them will speed up cooking, but for example for Milk Bread, you can use sugar and flour instead of dough. Though yes, the game will prevent you at first, simply uncheck Use Prepped Ingredients and then you will be able to cook those food. Fortunately, @Lenny_Ogg shows where it is.
So yeah, just uncheck Use Prepped Ingredients and you're good to go. - @Lenny_Ogg they also use the cutting board when making recipes that don't require prepped ingredients, like pancakes, even if you do have the mixer.
- I haven't tried any of the new gameplay since getting the pack, but might switch over to my modern playthrough to experiment lol thanks and I just wish EA would put in a non-modern method of cooking lol
