Cannot get past world page to play

I have been plagued with Sims 4 since the last update, with crashing and game freezing, but now for the past two days, I have a bigger issue.

on the 19th, I played and the game was acting as it should, after all the previous problems I deleted every mod I had which were House of Harlex mods only.  Then yesterday when I loaded the game, the entry page came up, and I clicked on resume game and the main world page came up.  I clicked on Willow Creek and on the property I wanted to continue with the loading page came on with music, but when it stopped I was back to the world page again.  I tried to get into three or four houses but each time it returned to the world page.  I tried another world, same result.  So I deleted the game, the icons on the desk top had disappeared as well, and everything associated with it.  Spent 6 to 7 hours downloading game and DLCs, I then turned my computer off and restarted.  I logged into EA and then Siims 4, when the game loaded it hadn´t deleted the old game, my save gave was still there as were the mods, which I had as I said deleted at the very beginning.  So I deleted the game again and the EA app, and today have re-installed both again it has taken between 6 and 7 hours to download, so imagine my horror when I logged on and my saved game and mods were still there.  According to my computer I don´t have any mods in any of my folders, especially my Sims 4 folder.  I am now at my wits end wondering what the hell is going on.  I have spent well over £1,000 on the game and expect to be able to play  it at least.  Please will you help me with this problem.  In the past when I have deleted the game and reinstalled it has played perfectly, apart from any outstanding bugs, but at least I could play but I cannot now at all.
