Cannot load lots from the gallery

Question

Long story but I want to "show my work."

Last month (July) I got a new gaming laptop and loaded the TS4 on to the new laptop. I transferred over all of my mods, custom content and saves via my cloud and everything worked properly.

Fast forward to the beginning of this month and I now cannot load lots from the library into my game. I have tried multiple residential lots, some with custom content, some from other players, some that I have made. When I try to place the lot, the screen gets stuck. No "construction" noises or anything. I end up having to do a hard shutdown of the game.

I have looked at previous forums on this matter and have done all the things. I have attempted to repair the game, removed my custom content and mods and repaired the game, completely uninstalled and reinstalled the game, deleted those pesky cache and i forget what the other one thing and tried. Nothing works.

Is anyone else having this problem?

Try resetting your sims 4 folder, and testing in a new save game without putting back any of your data in the sims 4 folder and test to see if the issue remains, when you try to place a lot.

Is this happening:

when you try to place lots with a sim living on the lot?
when you try to place lots on an uninhabited lot?
when you try to place lots with a build already on the lot?
when you try to place lots on an empty lot
when trying to place lots from the map screen?
