Yes, I downloaded several high school builds from the gallery and tried them, but didn't like them that much, so I bulldozed the lot and started building my own.
@durilda Could you test a new save game. Bulldoze the lot and start building to see if the same happens.

A new save file worked fine.
After bulldozing the highschool lot, I could build a basement and had no saving problems.I then saved my work-in-progress highschool to my gallery, bulldozed the lot in my original save again and replaced my highschool.
That apparently uncorrupted the lot and I can now build a basement there. No saving issues as well 🙂Thanks for your help @crinrict !
