can't disable visitors in penthouse
I think this was a bit of an oversight but back during the eco lifestyle update added the ability to click on the front door and then say "disable vampires, disable visitors, etc" since penthouses do...

@YESIMAWEIRDO I solved this by placing a wall with a front door. There's enough room for the postal worker and garbage chute and for unexpected visitors to get stuck behind my new front door. It forces them to go back down if I have the door set to lock and allow household only
@YESIMAWEIRDO The penthouse I placed two doors, first one is always locked for household member only to enter and the second one is locked to keep all the pets inside the house , here is a screenshot of what I did to change it around a little and I created a hallway for visitor to stand and wait until my sims come out of their house to greet them. Also the mail sim can always delivery the mail without issue because the mail box is in the hallway also
I don't have the game with the vampires in it and I have no clue how it work with them, but this help me out a lot with this one
Also the apartment penthouse for Chef I did something similar but it's much smaller but I used clear doors and large windows to see who is visiting my sim , I hope this ideal help you because I know it can become draining
thanks for the responses everyone! I have already been doing this. I just wanted to bring attention to it so that hopefully it can have a real fix in the future.
- @YESIMAWEIRDO I haven't had any issues with sims entering my sims home when I designed it that way, I found a lot of building layouts online of real penthouses build like that and I used their design style.
