Can't empty dirty coffee because brewing

I'm unable to empty my sims coffee pot (Tea Magic Personal Brewer) because it says it is brewing (see image). The pot has green fumes coming out indicating that it is dirty. I also can't drink the brewed tea. What's also odd is when is when I try to sell it in build buy, the name of the tea pot is the name of the tea I brewed.

I set the teapot on fire using my spellcasters magic, extinguished, then replaced the burnt item... and it still shows dirty green fumes coming from it and I am unable to empty it because it is brewing.
