Can't Explore Jungle

Product: The Sims 4
Platform:PC
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
What is your current game version number? 1.63.163.1010
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? Get Famous, Cats and Dogs, Seasons, City Living, Get Together, Get to Work, Strangerville, Jungle Adventure, Parenthood, Vampires, Dine Out, Spa Day, Outdoor Retreat, all stuff packs EXCEPT Tiny Living and Moschino.
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Go to Selvadore park, cut down the branches to the jungle, go through once and the bug will kick in on the second time.
What happens when the bug occurs? I can only explore the jungle once, after that my sim disappears and then reappears with nothing happening.
What do you expect to see? I'd like to explore the jungle more than once, or at least have a popup or something inform me my sim is 'Too Uncomfortable!' for it.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Not now. I've removed them.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Neutral/Not Sure

I've owned Jungle Adventure for a while, but I haven't even gone to Selvadore in game-world till this save. I went to explore the jungle and after I hacked the brambles down to go exploring from the park, got through once and then when I tried to go exploring again it just kicked her right back out.

Ok, so you're not getting a bug on the gate.  Good.  I should have said this before.  To have the other sims follow your sim through the gate, all you have to do is click on the gate frame after the 1st sim has cleared the vines and you've made your choice on the pop up. Just click around on the gate and you should get a little halo thingie just like when you clicked and got the clear vines options.  You will get options to send a sim through or another to send multiple sims through and view.  The sim you sent through who cleared the vines and got the pop up should be just on the other side of the 1st gate.  If you are already with the sim who went through first, then just click on the ground and select go here together and the rest of the sims in your party will come through.  That option is worded a little different if your sim is a spellcaster or vampire with the different movement options but it does the same thing.

You don't get a travel panel on the first gate, nor to the area just to the left of first gate (after you've gone through) or the one across the bridge and up the ramp.  Once through the gate across the bridge and up the ramp, you will have a choice of 4 gates.  Two of them will give the travel selection panel and two won't.

In total, there are 8 gates.  On every vacation trip to Selvadorada, 2 gates are always locked and will not open so don't be surprised when you find that.  They do not change during the current vacation.  To complete everything, it takes at least 2 vacations if you are lucky.  I had one household where it took 5 vacations to get into all of them.

If I sound like I'm beating around the bush a little, it's because I don't want to give away all the secrets about the place.  That's half the fun with having to figure them out.

    Hope this helps.

So the first time you chop the vines on any of the gates, you should be getting a pop up that gives you a choice that you have to make a decision on before you can proceed.  Are you getting that?  If you are not, then something is probably wrong and you should repair the game.

Once you make the decision, your sim will be on the other side of the gate and you have to click on their portrait so the camera switches to their new location.  Then you proceed to other gates from there.  If you don't do that, your sim may or may not come back to where he started.  They may just stand there singing or admiring the avocado tree that's near that side of the gate until they have motive failure.  There are two exceptions though.  If it is either the gate to the Royal Baths or to the Temple, then after you make the pop up decision, you will get a travel panel where you select the sims that are to accompany you.

Another thing is that it pays to visit the market first and talk to the locals to gain Selvadoradian Culture skill.  It's only a 5 level skill and you can max it pretty quickly if your sim has leveled up Charisma.  It makes dealing with the jungle a lot easier.

Also, if you finished the Temple and got the pop up that says it is complete, you can travel back to you lodging and will have to wait 18 hours before you can enter the Temple again.

    Hope this helps.

@CGrant56 What I'm getting is off of the viney area at the Belomisia Trailhead. I get the option to clear with hands or machete, and once it's cleared I send my Sim in and I didn't see an option to follow her? (I could have not been paying attention.)

I've only done it twice, but both times I got a pop-up with some kind of encounter. Investigate an abandoned camp/deal with a jaguar, and I made a choice and afterwards my exploration ended. I only tried to explore again after the jaguar, and that's when I got the vanish/reappearance thing. Never got a travel panel to bring sims with.

I didn't get a pop-up telling me I had to wait either, my sim just vanished and then reappeared, like she started going down the path and got booted out.

@CGrant56 Okay yeah I poked around more and made sure to actually pay attention annnnd it does look like this was a User Error incident. I've noticed the lack of houses on certain sides of the gate for one thing. Thank you for your responses and help! I'm eager to get into exploring the jungle properly. :D
