You need to do at least one risky performance that succeeds (non risky can fail as well). Keep an eye on the meter to see if you succeed or not when doing a performance. If you fail at a normal performance you need one more risky performance. If you make sure that your acting level is sufficiently high for the Gig and you have reached all work goals before the Gig starts you should have no problems getting gold.
It only happened twice. I was having other glitches at the time as well. My character got a Distinguished Drama degree. My acting, charisma, singing, and logic skills are maxed out. My guitar and fitness are 8. It was a fitness gig and a charisma gig. At level 10 of the career. I watched the performance and they were all successful according to body language and the progress bar. When I went to work all my pre work tasks were done, and when I arrived they were not. I did all of the tasks and when the day ended I was literally a hair from gold.
