I have a similar problem. I click on something in build/buy, the image appears on the end of my cursor like normal, but when I click on the area I want to place it the object flickers and disappears. Extremely frustrating! Happens with move objects on or off. I have no mods or CC installed.
Birdy26 Does the object you try to place stick on the end of cursor and not place and prevent you from selecting something else and the only way to get a regular cursor back is to quit to the main menu or exit? Or does the game allow you select another object? Does it happen with every object or just some objects?
