Can't Raise House Foundation

Hi!

So I've been trying to raise the foundation of a house in build/buy mode but it doesn't and instead, I can no longer delete objects by clicking and selling or by sledgehammer.

  • Reefa101  When you were trying to raise the foundation, which arrows were you using?  Were you using the big double headed arrow that is in the center of the floor level you click on or were you using one of the two arrows that show in the box you get when you click on a room that shows the wall height?  If you were using the latter, then those arrows only work for platforms and only raise or lower the floor in the one room that you clicked on.  You have to use the big double headed arrow to raise the foundation so the entire raises or lowers at the same time.  As to why you can't use the hammer tool, sell items or save, there appears to a similar issue with build that has been reported by a number of players.  I haven't seen a response that indicates that a solution has been found for the issue, nor have I had it happen to me.  So, the only things I can suggest are the usual troubleshooting steps.

    1. If you use mods and CC, move the mods folder to your desktop, start the game, load the save and see if it still happens.  If it doesn't, then it's something in your mods folder that you will have to find and delete or update.  If it does happen then....
    2. Repair the game, delete the localthumbcache file and load the save.  If that doesn't fix it, then ...
    3. Delete the localthumbcache file and start a new game and see if it still happens.   If that doesn't fix it, then ...
    4. Create a new user folder.  Rename your existing The Sims 4 folder or move it to your desktop.  Start the game, create and place the mandatory sims then save and exit. Copy your saves folder from the old The Sims 4 folder to the new one.  Start the game and load the save and see if it still happens.  If it does, it's something in the save and you'd probably be better off abandoning it.
    5. If doing all of those things doesn't fix the problem, the only thing left is to do a full uninstall and reinstall of the game.  If you have to do that, move your existing The Sims 4 folder to your desktop first so you don't lose your saves.

    Hope this helps.

It was a mod I missed when going through them for updates. Thank you!
