“Blast From The Past” event (week 3) - “Repair or Replace the computer” problem

This also happed to me! I tried buying a new computer and that didn't work. I tried hiring a repair person to come and that also didn't work.

I’m stuck on this as well, though mine is caused by using the unbreakable computer. Can’t repair or replace the one I used, and buying a second computer did nothing.

I had a similar issue where my Sim had the Ghostwriting Disappearing Desktop (which is unbreakable) and initiatied the Time Travel Component action, and the computer didn't break. Hiring a repair person didn't work for me either.

I just tried UncaringBoot9's workaround and left a (breakable) computer outside on a desk in the rain, waited for it to break, moved it back inside and replaced it, and the quest marked itself as complete, so that option can work! 

Rocaleeandnataliemug a couple of in-game days have passed and the task resolved itself on its own, continuing on with the next thing to do. So far my advice is to play as normal and let some in-game time pass and see if that resolves it for you as well.

I had the same issue (i dragged a plate to the sink and all my sims reset/stood up) this caused the prior interaction to succeed but my computer didn't actually break. I personally used the gremlins from city living, finished the event & went back to the main menu without saving (so i didnt have to clean up the mess from the gremlins lol)

I also had this issue, but with me it occured because i was using one of the library Computers and there wasn't an Option for me to repair or replace, even after waiting for some time. I then tried replacing it in BB but that also didn't help...

As of now the Task is still unfinished in my Game, hoping it will also fix itself within the next few ingame days as it did with you...

I've let a few in-game days pass and still nothing. Also have had the computer outside (but I don't have the weather expansion pack for rain). Also completed the other event tasks (eating, working out). 

My problem was just a pure ID10T error. It said I needed to repair or replace the computer, so I just went into build mode, sold it, and bought a new one. So I left the game without saving. BUT, the progress on the quest was recorded separately and was not erased. So Emit won't give me the tasks I need to start over. 

Any ideas?

I was in the library, couldn’t repare the computer and using freebuild I sold and replaced it. Didn’t work.. So I put a computer in the rain and did the gremlin lot trait and the next day I had to fix everything and also the computer and that did the trick!
