Are you on PC Mac or console?
Do you have mods or cc in your game?
Computer troubleshooting:
On the Origin launcher right click on the game and choose Repair.
Go to Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4 to find and delete the localthumbcache.package and any cache files.
Open the game and see if it is solved.
If not you may have bad cc or an outdated mod.
Repeat the steps above but move the mods folder and your saves folder to the desktop or somewhere safe.
Start the game without adding anything back as a test.
The game will automatically create fresh versions of all the folders/files.
Please reply with the results so we can help you further.
Hi there,
Thanks for your reply.
I'm on PC with mods/cc.
Repairing origin/deleting localthumb didn't work, but it worked in a new save file with no mods so it's likely a mod as suggested. Will look into this.
Many thanks,

Did you find out which one it is? I'm having the same problem.

@Vilesins A lot of mods were broken by the Sept. 3 game patch. Have you checked all of your mods to see if they are up-to-date? Here's a link to the broken mods & CC thread on the Sims Forum-- you can use this forum to see which mods have been updated since the last game patch. There are also links to where you can download the updated versions.

Are you on a Mac or PC? If you are on a PC, have you already tried repairing your game through Origin?
