Children won't drink potion of youth

I don't know if this is a bug or if this is game design, but when I try to have child sims drink a potion of youth, they just sit there doing nothing, looking around the place.  I made twin sims...

    Okay, I finally went back into the save and made sure the children were separated and not in conversations. They drank the potions. Thanks for your suggestions!

For me, potion of youth works on children. However, my kid had it in his inventory and I gave him the order to drink it from there. So, maybe, put the potions in their inventories. Also note that conversations slow down the time needed to drink the potion, but should not stop the drinking. Still, it may take them some time to finish the potion while talking. So, you may want to stop the conversation.

@peno11 I did instruct them to drink from their inventory; however, maybe the conversation blocked them. I am currently not in that save (I'm trying out life and death, lol), but when I do, I'll try locking them in a room on their lonesome and trying to get them to drink it.
