Child's simology panel still broken, even after it was supposedly "fixed"

Whenever I open a child sim's simology panel, the game glitches out and becomes unplayable. The UI is distorted, I can't open any other panel and I can't even save the game and close it normally. I have to force shut down the whole computer. 

The Sims team announced last week or so that this bug was fixed via an emergency patch, but I still experience this problem. I repaired the game, cleared cache, nothing helped. I don't know what to do.
