I'm trying to study a historical display at the museum for the event and no matter what I click all I get is view with Emits picture on it. I've tried all my museums. I even took out my mods and repaired the game and still the same thing.

No mods or CC , different museums different objects and still it won't complete.
I had the same Problem. No matter what I looked at. Whether it was a picture or a statue. I noticed that the wishes were always in focus. The wish was always to look at a picture, and it always completed the wish.
I deactivated the wishes and fears in the settings and then traveld to another museum. After thirty minutes of Sim time, it completed the quest for me.
Maybe I can help someone with this tip.

I have not had any issues with the Blast for the past! Just saying.....
I ... do not have..... or ever had... CC or Mod's. I also do not have any EP's after MWS. Just pointing out a fact for me. I play on Microsoft PC not laptop.
What worked for me was I went to the Willow Creek museum and looked at the painting (No. 4 Landscape) in the bottom right corner and clicked view. My sim just stood there for a while before the task was completed… weird but just try waiting a bit before you try something else!
Running view on the on the hunt statuette worked for me! Thank you!
I clicked on an item from outside the museum (Oasis Springs) and it had a special icon and said view and that worked. I wonder if there is a glitch where you don't get the correct option if your sim is inside the museum? Weird.
Having the same problem even after viewing for hours my sims can only view and not study. I even try started a new save without my mods and nothing worked.
I was having the same issue. I currently have a few mods installed, but I first went to the Willow Creek museum & tried to view a couple things with no luck. Then I traveled to the Oasis Springs museum after finding this thread and decided to just click View on the middle bust when you first walk in, I stared at it for maybe like an hour or two in-game. It didn't seem to be working, but I opened build mode and immediately got the pop-up that it was fulfilled.
I clicked on almost everything in the museum as View and one thing finally worked. Just click everything. Eventually something will work.
