[COLLECTION] Blast From the Past: Issues with specific Tasks

I am supposed to complete "A Strange Visitor" with the task of "Introduce yourself to Emit Relevart.

I did introduce myself. And we are now "good friends". Unforuntuately I still have the task to do of "introduce yourself", which I cannot do, because it is already done, and I no longer have that option. So how do I proceed?

As this thread isn't that great for troubleshooting and discussion, most issues have threads in The Sims 4 Gameplay Questions & Issues now. Please use this and only report actual bugs here.

For troubleshooting, try moving the accountDataDB.package to the desktop. This should reset (some) progress and hopefully it works the second time round.

Items can be bought through the mailbox if you are missing them.

Known Issues

  • Make sure to use standard introduction to introduce yourself to Emit. Proper, Howdy, etc don't seem to count. If you already introduced yourself you should be able to either use another Sim or try in a new save game. You can do the same if you introduced yourself before you got the task.
  • Emit doesn't appear in the park: Make sure if there's another Sim just not looking like Emit (this is caused by Mods, namely MCCC). If you still can't find it, some folks have had luck getting him from the gallery.
  • The Museum task is off as there's no study interaction. Please see this thread for more details: Blast From the Past: Study Historical Display not appearing | EA Forums - 11888363 
  • Shards: Make sure to collect all shards with the same Sim.
  • Building time capsule doesn't work in apartments. Blast from the Past: Build the Time Travel Component not possible in apartments | EA Forums - 11889087 
  • Can't ask Elder about Shard: This one is mod related (namely TOOL). Make sure you keep your mods updated.
  • Week 3: Make sure to do the computer tasks as home on  a breakable computer. For issues with this task (tried at the library now can't repair, unbreakable), buy a cheap computer and break it (there are several means to do so depending on the packs you own. Suggestions in the thread). Once it's broken, repair it.

    I have been trying for days to get past a part in the story line. I am supposed to fix or replace the broken computer. However, my sim ( at the time of the story line) had the high end unbreakable computer. So it cannot be broken. Is there a way to restart the story line from the beginning or move past this portion of the story.  I have also tried buying a new cheaper computer, turn it into parts and then rebuy the same computer but it did not solve the issue. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I do have mods running on my game. I shall not name them but if I need to remove them I shall in order to run the story line.

    In the new even, "the setback" part where it tells to "Get something to eat" no matter what my sim or her roommate eat, it doesn't check off. No matter if it's fresh cooked, a leftover, a quick meal. I have restarted the game several times, eaten all kinds of food and nothing makes it go up 1/1 instead of 0/1.

    I want to progress in the even, how can I solve this bug.

    I had the same problem.  Ate leftovers from a Grand Breakfast to no effect.  Clicked on the Fridge to make a new Grand Breakfast and ate it to no effect.

    Clicked on the stove, had my sim make Franks and Beans and after eating the quest finally cleared.

    I wonder if there are just certain types of food that the game is not checking against.

    pleas help me. I'm stuck on Quest 3 (Week 2): Echoes of Time

    1. Research Shards of Time on any computer under the Web > Research category.

    The category for searching pices online is not showing up.

    I'm not using any mods, and my progress has been going well so far. I have new updates and try to restarded the game. I don't know what to do next.

    Is there a way to restard te challange?

    DolphinaMoon Idk if you figured it out or even still care, but I got the event to work by turning off my wifi and playing offline. I don't know how to replicate the fix exactly, and I had to redo the majority of the event once when the game glitched and ate my progress, but I was able to complete the event and got everything

    I can’t get the over clock a computer to register I’ve over clocked ten different computers and nothing. Is ea ever going to fix this 11 year old game
