Counters not working properly.

I’m playing on ps5 and after moving to a new place and decorating. I attempted to cook, but my sim can’t use the counter to cook for some reason. Everything else works fine on it but when it comes to food it’s unresponsive. I even tried to place the ingredients on the counter but it just goes straight through to the floor instead.
