Create Get To Work Careers

Not sure if this is the correct place to post this, but I am wanting to create a custom career built off the Get To Work DLC system so my story I have. I am aware of the way to create just a regular career, but not sure how to get a mod started with the GTW pack.

I am posting this here because I cannot post on the regular EA Sims 4 forum.

    Hi @The_GoldWing,

If your Sims forum account is linked to the same email as your AHQ account, it would seem like you're not yet a full-member. The post counts and points received are a bit low to have unlocked those permissions just yet. What I mean by that is for a New Member to level up to a Full Member on those forums your account will need:

    • To be a New Member for at least 1 day =  You've got this one
    • Share 15 constructive posts/comments = Post count not yet at 15
    • Get 25 points = Points received such as 'Like', 'Awesome' or 'Insightful'' reacts haven't yet reached 25

So once you've met that criteria with that forum account, you'll unlock the permissions to create a thread as a full member, plus more permissions.

  • @UnicornAviation Hi!  I hope you're able to get that going and create a Musician GTW career. 🙂

While there may be folks here who can help you, the Sims 4 forum is still probably the better place for that.  Do you mean you can't create a new post there because you're not a full member yet?  If that's the case, maybe look for posts about career mods and ask your question there.  I saw this recent thread that might be a good place to start.
Do you use custom careers — The Sims Forums

    Good luck!

    Hi @UnicornAviation,

Can you elaborate on your posting issues with The Sims forum please? We may be able to offer suggestions you can try depending on the issue you're experiencing with the forum.

They likely mean on "forums.thesims.com". New users can't post new threads there until they've replied to a ton of messages first. Never understood that requirement.
  • @EA_Lanna I have been a member for a couple years now but haven't really been active on it. I went to go back this post there, but couldn't make a new topic in any category. I can reply, but not create my own topics.

@UnicornAviation , (and @Psychotps  ),  that is because in order to be a full member on the Official Forums, you have to get enough points by some combination of replying to posts, having someone like your post or give you XP, or by you liking someone else's posts /giving them XP.  I don't recall the what the right amount is, but once you hit that threshold you will be a member! 🙌

I know it seems strange to do all this just to be able to post, but many years ago they had problems with trolls or bots making a bunch of accounts and posting all sorts of inappropriate stuff on the site.😞 😖 This was the solution to that.  I know how frustrating it is , but if you keep active on the site you will be a member sooner or later! 🙂

  • @UnicornAviation My apologies.  Somehow your post got transformed into an issue with EA forums.  I'm not a mod'er and I think those who are may be hesitant to talk about mods and specific mod content on this forum which is more focused on helping troubleshoot problems and offering suggestions for improvement to the game.  That's why I suggested the EA sims forum is probably the better option.  You can search for posts like the one I shared and ask your specific question while participating in the discussions there.

There are other forums that you may find helpful as well.  Perhaps do a search for Sims 4 mod forums and see what appeals to you.  I have visited modthesims and sims4studio.  Both were helpful and they seem legitimate.  Good luck!  I'll be waiting for that Musician GTW mod. 🙂
