Dine Out Food Won't Appear on tables when delivered

I haven't been able to find a post which lists this issue which I am having with Dine Out.  Basically, I've found when going to a restaurant my sims are able to order their food and the waiter comes...

The cause of the issue remains uncertain, whether it stems from a game bug or a mod. During a recent in-game date, events unfolded without incident until the food was served, at which point it appeared entirely invisible. Has anyone figured it out yet the cause? Thanks.
