DLC's via Epic Games

I see Sims4 and DLC's are now available through Epic games (not sure how many atm) but does this mean that a DLC purchased via EPIC Games can now be played on different platforms, ie PC and Xbox, rather than only being available on the platform you purchased it on ?

I'm sure saved progress wont be available as yet until the full cross platform Sims5 version is available, but it would be nice to be able to play the DLC's on any platform that you own.

Thanks

  • @pjmerrell I believe that the game/DLCs are only available to be played on the platform you purchase it for, regardless of what way you purchased them.
I.e. purchase it on Origin for PC, and it will only work on PC; purchase it on EPIC Games for Xbox, it will only work on Xbox.

  • I know this, my copy of Sims 4 is from Steam, cause they offered for free, I got it there and all. Since then I bought 5 DLCs with Origin codes, activated them in Origin, and they play with Steam, or from Origin. Same I'm guessing with Epic games. But that's cause my Origin account is used to launch either. Xbox probably makes you all create their account, and anything you get must be theirs. I don't see how you'd make DLCs cross platform like that unless each would have a dual, or triple code for Sony too. They won't do that, besides if you do switch, it's tons more money for them. For several reasons I'd just play on PC. BTW type a name of a DLC into google and Eneba. Just be sure its global. $15 for any. The codes are for Origin, or EA app if you transferred. You get a DLC in seconds after.
