Eco Lifestyle is Effecting My Game when I have it turned off!
I have everything turned off for Eco Lifestyle, but now, just since maybe a couple updates ago, it is now effecting all my saves, like turning off the power, or today while I was playing, I got a notification saying: I'm afraid this household is not in compliance with the following Neighborhood Action Plans: Green Gardening. You will experience an increase in your Bills until the issue is resolved.
My household lives in an apartment, so they can't have a garden, and it really doesn't matter, since THE ECO LIFESTYLE STUFF IS SUPPOSED TO BE OFF! Now I have never had this happen before, it only just recently started happening, the last one turned the power off on my household, and I Googled how to fix it, and it said that if I have a wind turbine or solar panel it will turn my power back on, but guess what? It didn't work, and because of that I abandoned the save I was playing, because I figured it was corrupted, since I was having other problems too, like not being able to get married, no matter what I did.
But now I have this in a new save, and I bet even if I fix up a garden box with a few plants, it wont make any difference, just like me putting both a wind turbine and a solar panel in the other lot. Also what I found out with the Google search, also said that you can go to the Neighborhood community board and change what's the neighborhood plan at that time, BUT, I was in Willow Creek, and it doesn't have a board there normally, so I put one in the park, but because it wasn't part of the neighborhood my Sims was living, I couldn't do anything. I then went to the trouble to change an empty lot in their neighborhood into a community lot, and placed a board there, had my Sim go there, and I STILL COULDN'T USE IT!
Now if this isn't a bug, and instead The Sims has added that to the game, then well I am never going to play this game again, because they shouldn't be forcing something like this into the game, making us HAVE to follow some eco lifestyle plan, even if we don't have the pack or turn off effects from the pack. This isn't something you should be forcing.
I mean what happens when the household is too poor to afford to put wind turbines or solar panels on their lot or make a garden, or whatever other thing this, whatever it is, bug or new unwanted feature, demands our Sims do? The household I am playing isn't rich, so making them have to jump through hoops to keep from having higher bills or having their power turned off, even when they've paid their bills, is just more then a little annoying.
If this is a new feature, I want it out of my game or at least to be able to turn if off, if its a bug from Eco Lifestyle, then I want it fixed. I am tired of features from other packs that I have turned off, somehow becoming on again, even though its still off in settings. Like Neighborhood stories, I've had that turned off not long after it was FORCED on us all, and it still keeps starting up on its own, and moving homeless Sims into the empty houses, and moving even households I have been playing, out of their homes, so the game can stick a bunch of random Sims in their house, which has happened more then once. Also having couples breaking up, one Sim moving out of a household, and into another household, again even with households I'm playing with. Oh and that has been a problem for years, so its not even the updates.
Oh and I do have MCCC in my game, but no other mods or CC. And its up to date for the last update for the game.
Also since the last update, my game is now laggy, slow, when it wasn't before.
claramj what you are describing is probably not anything wrong with the game. It sounds like you didn't turn the Eco features off in Game Options early enough and your zones got at least one NAP assigned in the interim (NPC voting is on by default). So now, you need to get rid of them. To do that, you don't need a community board. All you need is a mailbox. You've got 2 ways to go about repealing any active NAPs. Make sure NPC voting is turned off in Game Options. You can vote them out or you can use the instant repeal cheat. Just have a sim living in the zone vote anytime on Friday-Monday, and the NAP gets repealed after voting is closed. Or turn testing cheats on, then shift click on the mailbox and click on the instant Repeal Option and follow the prompts. Either way you go, you'll need to check every zone in every world to make sure you've gotten rid of all the NAPs you don't want. And you'll need to remember when you start a new save, one of the first things you need to do is shut off NPC voting in Game Options before doing pretty much anything else. Doing that early, stops any NAPs from getting enacted by NPCs.
On the next to last paragraph about Neighborhood Stories and sims moving, etc. There is nothing wrong with NS. I have it shut off and none of what you describe happens in my game. I also use MCCC and have its story progression shut off. I suggest you check your MCCC settings since MCCC will do everything you described and more if you don't adjust its settings. At this point, I don't remember what the default settings are for that part of MCCC so I'm not much help there. So, I suggest you ask for assistance at the MCCC Discord or Patreon.
Hope this helps.
