Effects on Sims who had Never Weary prior to 1.40 patch
On February 22, 2018, a new update for The Sims 4 has been released for the Windows and Mac versions. One of the changes is the trait Never Weary where it now has the effect of providing a -100% Energy decay along with the Seldom Sleepy trait which has the effects of the old Never Weary trait. Here's the rundown of the trait effects of Never Weary:
- Never Weary (1.0-1.2): Priced at 4,000 Satisfaction Points, this trait provided -100% Energy decay effectively removing Energy decay similar to Steel Bladder for the Bladder need.
- Never Weary (1.3-1.39): Priced same as 1.2 but the effect of the trait was changed to provide around a -50% Energy decay due to the old effect being viewed as too overpowered. Description was changed to match the new effect.
- Never Weary (1.40): Price is now 10,000 Satisfaction Points and now removes the Energy decay similar to the original Never Weary trait.
- Seldom Sleepy (1.40): This trait is the same as the 1.3-1.39 Never Weary trait as it has the same effects (-50% Energy decay) and price (4,000 Satisfaction Points). Only the name and description are changed.
What the patch notes didn't mention is what would happen if Sims who had Never Weary prior to 1.40. I'm guessing (according to a reply in my thread at The Sims Forums) that Sims who had Never Weary in version 1.39 or earlier would get the updated Never Weary trait (i.e., Never Weary will remove Energy decay instead of slowing it down) but I need more information on that.
However, I believe Sims who had Independent, Antiseptic, and Hardly Hungry pre-patch will not have their traits changed so they won't get Needs No One, Forever Fresh, and Forever Full respectively when updating to version 1.40, they would need to purchase the new traits to remove the respective need decay.
