I often move in retired elder relatives when there's a two career family with new kids, since the grandparents have already raised kids and are good at it! Of course, that means they're super busy when the kids are toddlers, and then when the kids go to school they start doing hobbies. One autonomously started taking programming side jobs, which I thought was awesome so I let her do it.
But if I hadn't moved in the grandparents, it would rock to just be able to call Nana or Papa over to watch the kids.
In my rotational family save, when (widowed) Nana moved next door to help with the kids, no one touched her room because it was understood that she'd be back in a few years.
