Everything randomly unlocked

Actually its by design, if u build a house or click on an empty house to work on and no sim lives on those lots then the items are automatically unlocked. When i start a new game and play the premades, i evict them and refix their house with some of the items, then move them back in. I don't place every unlocked item in every house but it does come in handy when i want certain sims to have the items. I've been playing that way for 6 yrs, it saves me from having every household to b in science career to unlock level 10 pc, or the other career items.

Ok thank you, that explains a lot. I went back to one of my played households and you're right. I can't believe I didn't know that.
