explanation of files and what to do with them for mac users

hello everyone! I read an article in the archives on this website about the diff file types: SGI, HHI, HOUSEHOLDBINARY, etc.. I was wondering from the link posted below @Peneloperosemow (not sure if this is the current user, but this was the last username/user to be involved in the chat,) but they asked about (original user that posted,):  "Hello Simheads!
I am looking for a kind soul who could tell me what the Tray Folder is in the Sims 4. What files are in there?(are they the sims, households, etc) My main goal is to upload a sim to my mediafire account so I can upload it to my simblr/tumblr account. If you know how to do this, and how many files I will need from that folder, and also how to find the files I need seeings how there is already a bunch of files in the tray folder already."

the user that answered their question replied:  "There is 1 x.householdbinary file, 1 x .trayitem file 1x .sgi file per Sim in the household and 2 x .hhi files . For each household, they will all have the same file number and time stamp. You need to find these 5 files"

my main question, where do these files go? Ik there is the mods folder, then there are the tray folders, but where do the sgi, hhi, and housebinary files go? Do these also go in the tray just like the "blueprints & the trayitem" files? Or do they just stay in the general "mods folder?"
