@alswilliams_7873  I'm pretty sure now what happened.  The items you mentioned are all items that are normally hidden in the catalog and are collectables.  The only way to see them in the catalog is through one of the unlock cheats (I forget atm exactly which one it is, there are several which unhide different things).   Some of the items can be seen and accessed in build mode when you go into a lot with no sims on it to build.  Those are typically just the career reward objects, not the collectables.  But I haven't done that in a while so something may have changed that allows you to see more of the normally hidden things.  The devs gave players access to a lot of things that we couldn't get to before some time around the time Moschino came out I think.  Can't remember if it was before or after.  It was in either a pack demo or one of the garage videos.

But most of the things you mentioned are collectables which can only be unhidden by using one of the higher level unlock cheats that pretty much show almost everything in the game including stuff that is only used in the worlds.  Those usually also require testingcheats to be on as well.  You can find a list at the Carl's Sims 4 Site.  Just google that term and it's get you right there.

For instance, the skulls are the Sugar Skulls collection.  Bird statues are the Feathers collection (they assemble into bird statues once you have all of them).  And so on.

I'm not sure what caused them to show up, could be a glitch or maybe you did something that caused the cheat to activate.  Doesn't really matter.  All the items are still there, just hidden so you can find them again with one of the unlock cheats if you really want to get to them again.  All those items can be gotten through gameplay too.

  • @alswilliams_7873  From the way you have described the problem, I'm not sure exactly what the problem is.  So here is what I think you are saying:  You saw some items in the build mode catalog that you had never seen before and now you can't find them again.

Anything from packs that you own will show up in two places as far as I know.  They will show up in the build mode catalog.  New stuff will generally have a flag icon in one corner of the thumbnail.  Those little flags will go away at some point.  Usually when you have clicked on all of the recolors of an item, the little flag for that item will go away.  They always go away when you get a new pack so the flags only show then on the items from the new pack.

The second place they show up is at the Main Menu, before you load your save.  If you click on any of the pack icons on the lower part of that screen under "Your Collections", a window pops up showing all the content that the new pack added.  If the icon for a pack is greyed out like it is sometimes when it gets added by the patches that come out right before a new pack is released, I'm not sure, but I think you get the same window showing the stuff in a package.  If you don't own a pack, the icon for that might stay greyed out or just disappear.  I don't know that for sure simply because I have all the packs.

Anyway, I have never seen anything in the build catalog for packs that I didn't own at the time.  So I am guessing that what you saw were the new items added by a pack you recently bought and now the little attention getting flags have disappeared off of the items if you clicked on them.  That is normal.

As the number of packs released has grown, so has the build catalog and sometimes it is hard to find some items just because there's so many items now.  But here's a way you can look.  On the right side of the screen, just above the build mode catalog window at the bottom, there is a little search window that if you click on it, you can get a little menu with all the packs you have listed.  Each one has a little box that you can click on to narrow a search.  Clicking on Tiny Living say, will make the catalog show just the items from that pack.  That is the quickest way to find things in the catalog.

So I suggest that you use that to see if you can find the items you saw before.  If you can't find them, then it may have been a glitch of some type and the game recognized you didn't own a pack so it hid those items.  I have never heard of that happening though.  Anyway, I hope this helps.

  • All I know is, that I saw a bunch of items in build mode that wasn't there before. For example, a bunch of crystals, a bird statue, some new artwork, some colorful skull heads, and so much more. I put the bird statues in one of my homes and they are still there but not in the build mode menu. It was strange. I just recently added Tiny Living, Discover University, and Island living. I wish I could explain it better.
