@CGrant56 Thanks. Your answer was really helpful. I did need the treasure, and after about 25 cave explorations, my sim finally found some. He wasn’t actually doing the odd job at that time, so I kept the treasure until he tried it again. Then after I explored the cave, I posted the treasure. And it worked. But it really wasn’t worth all the effort. He only received a small amount more than the treasure was worth.
Yeah, I'm not surprised that the odd job didn't pay well. That's the case with a lot of things throughout the game. Economics in the game are a bit strange and many things that one would think would be a good money maker aren't. In some cases, the raw materials cost more than what you can get for the finished whatever. It really doesn't make much sense to do them unless you just want to or have to for an aspiration milestone or career task.
I'm glad you found your treasure though.
