Fishing spots in Cottage living

I noticed there aren't any fishing sign/spots in cottage living. When i click on a body of water i only see the options to swim around. Anyone else notice this?

  • @mje993 , I saw a fishing sing on one of the ponds somewhere when exploring the Brabmlewood in the Isle of Volpe Park, but it was a mossy or leafy pond and might be easy to miss if it wasn't for the birds swimming on it! 🤨

As for other ponds on public lots, (like the Isle of Volpe Park in the Bramblewood,) you can add the Fishing Allowed Sign and then click on it in Live Mode to see if you have to stock it.  It should say something like "Manage Fish in Pond...".  After that you can fish from there by clicking directly on the sign.🥳.

But you should be able to at least find one fishable pond in the Isle of Volpe Park! 😉

Update:  I also found a fishable pond just between the Watson family farm and the river. (The Watson house is the very large one!)  This one had willow trees and a dock, and you didn't need to stock it first!   Here are some pics:

You might have noticed that the signs are different.  The Fishing Allowed sign at the top is the one that is newer and you have to stock the pond to fish there.  The other sign you don't have to stock the pond.  I don't know what it is called though.  (Perhaps a builder like @SheriGR  can tell us what it is called and where to find it!)  😉

Also note that on the newer Fishing Allowed sign, once you stock the pond by clicking on the sign, you can only fish by clicking on the pond.  However, with the older sign you fish by clicking on the actual sign.  🙃

I think I spotted a couple of old-school fishing spots along the river in Bramblewood as well. I don't have my game open to check right now, but I think they're on the side across from the ruins.

@PugLove888 @mje993 Yes, there is a second fishing sign in Cottage Living, but it's not visible by default. You have to enter the hidden objects cheat to see it in the pond objects options.

So, by default this is what you will see when you go to 'Outdoor Water Decor' > 'Pond Objects' ... Only the 'Fishing Allowed Sign':

Here's how to reveal the hidden sign and where to find it afterward...

First you need to open the cheat console and enter the hidden objects cheat as follows:

    1. With your lot open in build mode, press Shift+Control+C to open the cheat console box (upper left of your screen).
    2. Enter the following in the cheat code box:
      bb.showhiddenobjects
      (then press enter)

Now go to 'Outdoor Water Decor' > 'Pond Objects' ... And now you will see both the 'Fishing Allowed Sign' and the 'Fishing Allowed Sign - Pre-Stocked'.

If you add this sign to your pond you will get different options for stocking fish with this sign (it will pre-stock the pond with fish), as @PugLove888 mentioned.

@mje993 , I'm glad that we could help you! 🙌💗💗💗

@wombatilim , thank you for adding the info on more fishing spots!  😇

@SheriGR , thank you for the specifics on how to find the other sign! 🥰 I knew you would know since you have both signs in the pond on your Sustainable Michigan Farmhouse lot!  I just couldn't find the older sign that made ponds automatically stocked with fish! 🤭😅  I searched for a while and figured they were either in "hidden objects" , in "debug" , or in "career rewards/unlockables" , all of which require a different cheat.
Instead of fiddling around trying to find the right one (especially since some of these cheats open a ton of other items to wade through!) I figure the safest bet was to tag you!  Thanks for your help! 🤗

So a little more detail on where to find the spots in the Bramblewood:

This one is not far from the national park. Same side of the river as the park, close to the gazebo on the island with the ruins.

The other one looks a lot like it, but it's on the house side of the river near the little public picnic area:

Edit: I just spotted one in Finchwick as well. It's behind the window shops:
