Gallery corruption error

Hi Guys! I am in the trenches and really need someone to help me out.

Every time I open my gallery, every item loads as a white screen with a red cross, when I press one in particular, it says the "item is corrupted" and asks if I'd like to remove it. When I press yes, it says "service error".

I have done every option the internet has told me do:

  • Deleted local thumb cache package
  • Deleted trays
  • Performed factory game reset
  • Reset my laptop
  • Deleted all my mods
  • Changed my graphics to Direct X9

GAMING PC (using monitor), VERSION: 1.27.41.1030 DX9

Please help me! What else can I do to get my gallery back, it's one of the biggest reasons I enjoy Sims so much.

Hey! I had this problem a while back with just the red crosses though, try allowing the Sims 4 application exe through your firewall protection. Go through your windows security go to virus and threat protection, make your controlled folder access is on.

Now click "Allow an app through controlled folder access", click yes then click "add an allowed app" and find all the sims 4 exe application files and add them all.

    Hopefully this helps.

Hi there! I am referring to my online gallery, not my library. Every item on the gallery, whether it be lots, households etc is loading with red crosses. Then comes up with the errors listed in my original post. I did game repair and uninstall/reinstall, both of which have not helped. Any other advise??

  • yolkandahalf  Are you trying to get your Library back or the Gallery itself?  My reply is assuming the issue is with your Library, not the online Gallery.

You didn't mention whether you did a game repair or a full uninstall/reinstall but those are things you can do as well.  At the least, you should do a repair if you haven't already done one or more.

From your description, if all the lots and sims were showing as red X's on a white background, that gave you errors, that mostly likely means those files have become corrupted.  For all practical purposes, those items are beyond recovery and gone.  Unless you have an earlier copy of your tray folder or those items are still in your save so you can save them again to your Library, you've lost them.

If you deleted the tray folder during your efforts to fix the problem, you deleted your Library and everything in it.  So, if you want that back, I hope you have another copy of the folder saved somewhere that you can copy or move back to your current user folder.  Otherwise, whatever you had in it are gone.

I'm sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but that's the way it seems to be based on what you've said.    Hope this helps.
