Gallery Library copied lot won't download in new game, no error message

I've successfully been copying lots and families from save games to the gallery library and then downloading them in a new save. But one lot I copied, while it looks like it's about to load, does not do so. There is no error message.

  • OK I googled this and got something. In the gallery I used advanced, and set custom content and all my lots saved. But my original problem I believe was due to a corrupted lot from the beginning. I found the lot and it was not loading properly in the gallery bottom screen. I somehow was able to download it the first time but now it's a lost cause.

  • So now I've just had 3 lots I tried to save to my library give me the same message - error lot won't save to library. There's no code showing. Just to test, I tried putting a lot from Ondarian in my library. Worked as it should. Perhaps some of my game lots are old and glitched, good enough to keep playing on, but not to make copies of.

Thanks, yes, but I ended up just getting a new lot. This happened a second time on a lot I'd converted from university housing to residential. (I'm consolidating all my played sims in different games into one save).

  • susanleona  When that happens, it usually means that something went wrong with the lot copy and the lot is glitched.  So, first thing to try is to go back and make another copy.  However, sometimes that won't work either.  I've had a lot where that happened and ended up scratching the build and building something else on that lot in the new save.

One thing that does help out sometimes is how you go about placing the new lot.  I feel that I have better success with going into the lot from the map, bulldozing whatever is there then installing the lot from the Gallery/Library rather than just installing it at the map screen.  It also seems to go faster doing it that way.

    Hope this helps.

  • I have no mods or cc in my game. Am playing on a PC. The lot does not place at all - the unoccupied lot is still there.

  • Could you please provide the following information

    • Are you using mods/cc in your game ? Please remove them and test without them if you do.
    • What platform are you playing on (PC, Mac, Playstation, XBox). Please pick a thread tag for that.
    • Does it not place at all or can you not load into the lot after placing it ?
