The patch notes said that the news feed wouldn't be there after the maintenance, but it would eventually come back.

In the gallery, why did you discontinue the "News" ribbon? I like to know what's going on (since I usually post and comment a lot and want to be nosy to know what my friends made).
@kris_blurryface9 the understanding is that it's just a temporary measure and it will return in the future. Here's the explanation from previous patch notes from EA:
"At launch, PC and Mac Simmers may notice that the News tab isn’t there and the Gallery Newsfeed is not feeding anymore. This is temporary and we will be looking at bringing them back, in some form, at a later date. Console players will also get these features when they return."

I was unaware of this announcement since I don't use twitter.
I haven't had access to the gallery since the screwed up my game with the "update" in may of 2023 it's now june 2024 and I STILL have no access to the gallery or have that news feed icon in my game. I'm being treated like I have a pirated version or something... when in all honesty, i have bought every single DLC they ever came out with, including the kits (excluding the latest 4) I am sooo upset by all of this, and coz I can't get in contact with anyone in customer service at EA... i'm at a loss. What can I do? Can anyone here help me, please?
@SimtasticGrl you should still be able to see the Gallery. Have you checked in your Game Options to make sure Online Social Features are checked? Because that's usually the problem. After an update it sometimes unchecks and has to be checked again. I'm adding an image for you to show you where it is. (If you are on Xbox there are additional settings on the Console, also attached incase that's your platform but disregard if it's not).
The News Feed has been temporarily suspended and we are told it will return at a later date, so you won't have that. But the Gallery itself is still functioning. If your online social features are definitely checked but you still have no Gallery, then take a look at these troubleshooting steps:

I agree the news feed is great to see what my gallery friends are up to and what they see that they like too.. I miss it a bunch. Wish EA would get it together! Noticed a bunch of gallery friends are using other options to show their creations like twitter. Sad to see them give up on the gallery altogether. Waa aa aa We need our News feed back!
