Gallery Search Based on Owned Packs

Can you make it so that the search engine in the gallery actually works when you select 'show owned'?

I don't own every pack in the Sims 4 and I don't plan to as I am not made of money.

I am confused why there is an option titled 'show owned' and every time I try to search with it it shows results with all packs, so I can therefore not use the rooms/lots/sims etc in those searches.

This feels like a tactic to continuously show people what they are missing out on so they will want to buy. 

Can you honor those who don't own every pack to be able to find just items in the packs they do own?  I am forced to search 'base game' when I actually have a lot more than the base game. It is frustrating.
