game keeps freezing

when I try to get in the game it keeps freezing, like it doesn't load and I have to keep getting out the game and into the game (sims 4) for it to get to the actual home screen and I can't do anything because it is frozen, the computer isn't, the game is. Trust me, I know the computer isn't frozen because I can get out of the game, but I can't play it and I just got it a few days ago on my mom's computer which meets the requirements for the game. Also, I know you can search up things on google and figure it out. ive tried what I could find, but it didn't work.
