Game Not Connecting Online, Limited-Time Items Missing

My game displays the message: “Connection Required: Connect or stay offline?” When I choose “Connect,” it just says “Attempting to Connect.” This has been happening for about a month, but I ignored it at first since it didn't bother me that much. (Since I can't connect, I also can't access the Gallery.)

Recently, during the Deck the Palms Login Event, I wanted to claim the new items, but the event didn’t pop up, so I wasn’t sure if I needed to be connected online. I tried reinstalling The Sims 4 and moved my old saves over, but now I also lost all of the Limited-Time Items from past events. (I thought these items were supposed to be linked to my account. Not sure.)

I don’t know what’s happening and would appreciate any help.

    I think everything is fixed now! The root cause was because it wasn't connecting to the internet. It started working I clicked around a little in Origin (didn't do the trouble shooting properly so who knows what fixed it). When I logged back in the event popped up, I could open the Gallery, and all my items were back!
