Get To Work - Detective bug?

Wondering if anybody could help 🤷🏼‍♀️

Had a sim join the detective career from university so started the career as a captain. When the sim

goes go work everything is fine it shows captain above the sims head etc when the sim travels to a location go on patrol / crime scene then completes the daily task it says “go back to the station”. When arriving back at the station the sims captain is gone above her head and the daily task is removed. Doesn’t give the sim the option to go home.. The sim gets stuck unless I go on manage worlds etc. Even then the sim has the brief case on her and says she’s at work although she’s home! 
 
no mods or no cc!

I’ve repaired the game and the game is updated 😭
