ghosts after 2 generations

Hello, is there a way to properly remove ghosts from the game? And yes, when you try to play across multiple generations, the game becomes impossible because there are way too many ghosts wandering around... Do you have any tips? I realize that playing The Sims across multiple generations is almost impossible, between the disappearing family tree and the ghosts  😞
