Glitch with detective clues, makes arresting the right suspect impossible

Never had the false clue problem. On the topic of clues and evidence collected from previous cases - they can be used on the next case. Collecting evidence is similar to collecting rocks or gems. The evidence isn't actually tied to the case. If you have a large enough collection you can start a new case and solve it without ever visiting a crime scene if you have enough evidence in your inventory.
