@kaitlynmerry Yup. It's a thing. Half walls seem to act somewhat (or maybe exactly) like fencing/railing in my experience of these types of areas. I have not fully compared. I am currently building a home with a complex roof that will not be contained unless I have a full wall a 'loft' type area I where I compromised and used a large window. This is the first time I've done that, though. My normal route is to play with the area and roofing to find a way that will work. This can include any number of combinations of things like:
- breaking down some roofing into 'pieces' (example - removing a 'hipped roof' and creating the same shape with one or more half-hipped roofs, and maybe even one or two 'half gabled' sections.)
- extending or pulling in one or both eaves
- adjusting the pitch
- in some cases if the inner rooms are retraced with the wall tool to make sure all areas are considered a 'room' by the game this can help in some cases of clipping
- If you are not sure about some of these roofing terms, there are some explanations here.
There is a Bug Report that you may find useful: https://answers.ea.com/t5/Bug-Reports/NEEDS-INPUT-Roof-clipping-through-walls/m-p/9256109#M32528
If you think this matches your issue please add your 'Me Too' to the Bug Report and you can let me know and I could find out if this thread can be merged into the Bug Report.
I made this video where I experimented on a workaround in reference to the bug report above:
If none of the above helps I would be happy to see if I can find a way to make your roofing work on your home (which I may or may not be able to do, but I can try). If I'm able to I can make a video of the process so you could reproduce it in your game. If you would like this please share this lot to the Gallery. You could name it something like "roof clipping issue". Then please add a comment in this thread to let me know the name, and please let me know if your User ID in the gallery is different than it is here in the forum.
