Help a concerned dad.... Question about in game sexuality...

Hello everyone. This is my first post and I have a question,  forgive me if this has already been asked.

I am a father of an eight-year-old girl. I remember playing The Sims when I was younger and don't remember it being very bad in terms of sex stuff. When my daughter asked her mother what "risque" meant her mother blew her lid when she found out there is sex in the game. I personally didn't think it was that bad and don't recall there being any actual sex in the game, but my daughter's mother won't let her play anymore unless I can provide evidence to the contrary.

So my questions are, what happens after she clicks the risque? What is it exactly? Is there any visual graphics that we should worry about? I tried to find videos on YouTube but could only find actual sex mods, nothing from the base game. My other question is there any sort of Parental setting to take that option, or any sexual option out?

My poor kid loves the game and I would love for her to keep playing. But also need to set her mother's mind at ease. Also if you folks that are more knowledgeable about this game feel as if 8 may be too young please say. Personally I think she can handle it I don't think the game is too bad but honestly I am assuming, so I'm looking for some knowledgeable opinions.

Thank you for your time, sorry for the long read. Just want to do what's right for my kid.

  • @cnmc311 The risque option is just a flirt. Unless you have mods, there are NO explicit scenes in the game. No nudity at all. Just things like kissing, hugs and such. Even bathing and going to the bathroom is censored. There are a lot of flirty options but it's all kid-safe.

What I would recommend is you and your wife sit down without your daughter and just play the game for a while and try some things out. That way you can make a good well-informed decision as to whether or not you want your daughter to continue with it.

But I'm sure you'll see is very safe.
