Household memebers not recognised

My sim is unable to build a relationship with her household members (her child and a dog). She can interact with them normally, but the relationship level does not change/remains at zero. Also, if I try to hold a social event, I can't choose a host as there is no one to choose from. Removing any cc/mods, clearing the cache, and repairing the game have not worked. Any ideas on what could be wrong would be greatly appreciated, thank you!
