How do I exit the cheat box?

I've tried typing "exit" but it just won't go away. It's just this big annoying white box right in the middle of my game, and I have no idea how to get rid of it. The only way i've gotten rid of it s...

The most helpful way for me is to retype the cheat and THEN press esc. (escape) Also whenever you switch households or visit (or really do anything past thirty minutes in my case, you have to retype the cheat and press escape again. you MUST press escape immediatly after the code has been varified
