how do you use mods on a macbook?

hello everyone!

i’ve been playing the sims 4 four a few months now in my macbook, and i wanted to install some mods, such as the mc command center. the problem is that, even though mods are allowed from my game options, when i open the game it’s like i haven’t downloaded any mod. i’m not very good with computers so i’m probably just forgetting to do something simple LoL.

  • Hello
Are the mods all package files?
And where did you put these mods? in which folder?
  • @irace99  Do you still need help with this issue?  If so, please right-click (or hold down crtl and click) on the Mods folder where you've added your mods, and select Get Info.  Under Where, please post the full file path here.  You can write username instead of your actual username if you want, but leave the rest of the file path intact.

hi, i put the downloaded files into the mods folder; I know they should be in the "package" extension, but I really don't know how to convert them from ts4 something to that. thank you for replying!

@irace99  Mods themselves use the .ts4script format, although they often come with one or more .package files as well.  If the files in your Mods folder are all .ts4script or .package, then that's not the issue.

Please post the full path to the Mods folder, as I described before.  Please also let me know whether your Mac runs the standard version of Sims 4 or the Legacy Edition.

i do have the standard version of the game; the path should be/Users/irene/Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 4 (I didn't create the folder, it was already there when I opened the the sims 4 folder for the first time)

@irace99  That is the correct path, but please double-check on the Mods folder itself (right-click, Get Info) to make sure you're not in the iCloud version of Documents.  The Mods folder is created automatically by the game the first time you launch it, so that's not the issue.

Please delete options.ini from the same Sims 4 folder.  Then go into the game, enable script mods and custom content, quit, reload, and see whether your mods are there.  If not, please remove all your mods except for MCCC, and test again.
