How long until most bugs are fixed?

Personally I am dealing with a common Lin-Z speaker bug, an uncummon bug with animations continuing after pausing and a more common bug with the jittery toddler.

I want to know how long I can expect it to take for these bugs to be fixed, since I have no idea how active the team working on Sims 4 bugs is and how good they are at it.

Should I expect the bigger bugs to be fixed next month? Or will I be playing a bugged game until it's a month away from 2024?

Any estimate or general information on how long it has taken to fix bugs like this in the past would be appreciated.

  • More than likely you'd be waiting a long time unfortunately... Some bugs have been around for years.

You might be lucky and spot them on a laundry list of upcoming fixes, that can at least reassure you that they will be on a patch in the near future.

In the meantime we keep adding our Me Toos and as much info as we can to the bug reports and we cross our fingers.

I've started keeping my own bug records and recorded up to 100 bugs in my game, some have since been fixed. I've reported most of them. Pesky little things they are, I'd like them all fixed asap too.

Yeah, I would not hold my breath. The team is fast to fix game-breaking bugs but bugs which only occur in certain cases, they are very slow. This bug (https://answers.ea.com/t5/Bug-Reports/FIXED-Can-t-build-a-rocket/td-p/10541363) needed almost 1 year, and then they fixed not the other bug (https://answers.ea.com/t5/Bug-Reports/OPEN-CL-Unable-to-light-fireworks/td-p/10583650), which have the same cause.

I would recommend using mods if you can, and if it only for bug fixing.

  • Unfortunately we've just had some problematic patches added too, these introduced some nasty bugs. I hadn't been able to play at all since one of them, my Console crashed to home every 4 to 5 minutes. I just tested it yesterday and it stayed on a little longer so I'm hopeful. I've been on my Switch instead and missing my Sims. I've played it since the first game.

But they do know about these bugs and we've seen a SimGuru join the threads for some of them, that's usually a good sign. Just to get that interaction directly with the team on a bug thread and that reassurance from them that they are figuring it out for us.

Some bugs though have been around ages and the fireworks bug mentioned there is a really great example. My festivals aren't the same without them!
