how to create a mermaid

@yeldah52  I've moved your post to the Sims 4 game info section.  Don't worry, someone will be able to explain things to you here.

@yeldah52, so far I've only made on in CAS when I started a new family.  When you go into CAS, it will give you a default Sim.  For now, ignore the default Sim and click on the buttons on the bottom left of the screen (I think it is a plus sign), and a little list pops up -- choose the icon that is like a swirl and says "Occult".  From there (depending on which packs you have installed) you can choose between a Mermaid, An Alien, and a Vampire.  Click on the Mermaid icon.  From there you can make your Mermaid.  (You can also now delete the other (default) Sim the game gave you when you entered CAS.) 

A Mermaid has 2 forms: a land form and a water form.  You can link or unlink these forms (for example, you may want to have the ocean form have a different skin color or face shape, so you would unlink the forms.  If you want both forms to have the same features (at least for upper body) you can link the forms.  🙂

There is also a way to become a Mermaid in-game with Mermadic Kelp, but I have not encountered that yet!   When I find it, I will let you know! 😉

Another option is to use a cheat code while in play mode 🙂

traits.equip_trait trait_OccultMermaid    this will change your Sim into a mermaid 

@PugLove888 gave a great answer! And @pinjantai has the right cheat… I'll add (mild spoilers!) that if you want to turn a sim into a mermaid, the easiest way is to purchase kelp from the aspirations reward store for 500 points! I And apparently, some people have been finding it in the grotto or other places as well!

Thank you @legasimmer  and @pinjantai , for your additional tips.   I especially wanted to know about how to obtain mermadic kelp that I heard a Sim Guru mention, but hadn't encountered it yet.  I just assumed that it was somewhere in Sulani and didn't even think of the Aspiration reward. 😉  And thanks also for the cheat!  Just keep in mind that sometimes with other types of "occult" Sim states , sometimes they don't work right when you get them through a cheat, so this could be the case with Mermaids too. 🤔

So, @yeldah52 , you now have 4 ways to become a Mermaid: in CAS, with the purchase of the Aspiration Reward, by finding it in the world in Sulani, and with a cheat! 🥳
