How to delete tree skirt

I was having issues placing presents under the tree after decorating it so I placed a couple single tree skirts to test those and now I can't delete them.  All my sim can do is admire lights and I can't do anything with them in build mode.  Any suggestions?

  • Deleting the floor didn't do anything but I built floors on top of the tree skirts and that deleted them.  Thanks!  (I ended up not putting the floor back because I liked the sunken room look.  🙂 )

  • @cakemaster1973 Can you use the sledgehammer on the tree and each skirt you placed then save, exit the game, re-enter, and try decorating a new tree without adding anything under it, etc. and see if they can interact fine. Please place the tree and all things by the tree only where they could snap into place and not by alt-placing, using MOO, etc., so that the Sims can fully interact with the tree as intended.

  • The problem is I can't even use the sledgehammer to delete the tree skirts.  I can't interact with them in any way.  The sims recognize they are there because they can't use items that are blocked by the skirts.

Please try removing other items in the room to your inventory temporarily, then use the sledgehammer on the floor. See if this deletes &/or frees up the items for deleting with the sledgehammer. If any of the tree skirts or the tree went to the household inventory, I think it would be safest to just delete them, though they would likely be reset when re-adding to the lot. I would then rebuild the floor, then re-add your items to the room and a new tree. Make sure that none of the items near the tree and also the tree are either alt-placed or placed with MOO.

Let me know how this goes, please.

@cakemaster1973 I'm so glad it worked! Thank you for letting me know. Have fun with your sunken room and Christmas tree! 🙌
