The 1st test was a completely new save, but seeing as it was begun before the update had installed, because the PlayStation updated another game first, everything worked the way it did before Neighborhood Stories. I don’t know how long you’ve been playing the game, but before Neighborhood Stories, the game had a setting in “Game Options” where you could choose “Fill empty homes”. I don’t know if it had any effect in terms of how fast townies were generated, but I’ve usually played with it on.
I created a sim and moved her into Sandtrap Flat in Oasis Springs and I didn’t delete any of the premade households and I didn’t delete any of the households that were generated.
- Day 1: I had my sim stay all day at her lot, but talked to many of the sims that spawned outside near the house. The welcome wagon came by almost immediately and consisted of Johnny Zest and a random townie who had apparently already moved into one of the other houses, because it said “ Neighbor” above her head. Throughout the day several random townies spawned outside on the street, walked by or went fishing.
- At the end of the day, I checked unplayed households and 9 new households had been generated:
- 1 single sim
- 2 adults (husband and wife), 1 teen son and 1 child daughter
- 2 adults (husband and wife (YA)) and 1 child daughter
- 1 single female adult, 1 teen son and 1 child daughter
- 1 single female adult and 1 child son
- 2 adults (husband and wife) and 1 teen daughter
- 2 adults (husband and wife), 1 teen daughter and 1 child son
- 1 single young adult female, 1 teen daughter and 1 child son
- 2 adults (husband and wife), 1 teen daughter and 1 child son
- At the end of the day, I checked unplayed households and 9 new households had been generated:
- Day 2: My sim stayed at home until some time after noon, because cooking breakfast set the stove on fire, so had to wait for the firefighters, then I had her go to the park in Oasis Springs where she stayed until around 10 PM, because one of the kids didn’t leave (only children and teens generated the previous day spawned) and then to the bar in Oasis Springs where she stayed until about 1 AM.
- Checking the unplayed household showed that 8 new households had been generated. All of them single sim households. 2 of them were firefighters and 1 was the bartender.
- Day 3: Some time after noon, I sent my sim to Willow Creek. First the library, then the gym and finally the nightclub where she stayed until maybe 3 AM, can’t quite remember.
- Unplayed households showed that 9 new households had been generated:
- 1 single YA male sim (librarian)
- 1 single female YA, 1 teen daughter and 1 child son
- 2 adults (husband and wife), 1 teen daughter and 1 child son
- 2 adults (husband and wife) and 2 children (son and daughter)
- 1 adult female and 1 teen son
- 2 elders (husband and wife) and their 2 grandchildren (= 1 YA male and 1 female teen) who were cousins, not siblings
- 1 single female (personal trainer)
- 1 single female (bartender)
- 1 single female (bartender)
- Unplayed households showed that 9 new households had been generated:
- Total: 26 new households (11 children, 10 teens, 34 adults (YA, A and E))
