[HSY] Thriftea vendor not appearing for existing save

Hello!

I was so excited to see that the Thriftea bug (no attendant at counter, multiple poetry contestants instead) was fixed in the February 25th patch notes. However, it seems that the only way I can get it to work is if I start a new save file entirely.

My current save file (started in 2014) still has the bug. I've uninstalled and reinstalled everything and replaced the lot with multiple different boba tea builds. It simply won't work. Am I missing something? Is there any way I can fix this, even though it's now considered "fixed"? I have never used CC or mods. There's 8 poetry contestants hanging out lol

The vendor should work now but there's a few reports from people still not having them. Did you test multiple old saves ? Did you also try putting the thriftea in a different location to see if it works there (for troublehsooting)

Could you try switching the lot to a different lot type, save the game under a new name, then switch back to thrifttea ?

I tried your suggestions and I had success! Both the new save and old save had working Thriftea - it was just my current save that wasn't working. I changed the venue to bar, saved, then back to thrift/boba and it's now working :)
I also replaced the boba lot somewhere entirely different and it worked as well. I had replaced the boba shop before but didn't try a venue change - thank you so much for your suggestions!

Please use the other thread if you continue to have issues with the events at the lot.

For a few months I’ve noticed that my bubble tea counters at any bubble tea locations i have in my sims world doesn’t work. I can’t interact at all or hire anyone to work for it. Is anyone else experiencing this issue?

there was an issue with thrifttea was bugged but it was fixed. Unfortunately already affected lots are still bugged.

The following steps should solve your issue

Change the thriftea lot to anything else. Doesn't matter if it's an incomplete lot.

Exit to the map

Re-enter the lot and change the lot type back.

That should fix the issue.

This is not a new bug, I see people were complaining about my exact problem already but I did not see any advice for fixes and comments are turned off for those complaints from 6+ months ago. I bought the high school pack and there are no events or vendors showing up at the thrift shop. It gives a notification for fashion show night but we only ever have 3 comedians show up and nobody else... so ya comedy night sort of works but nothing else. The fiddlesticks lady doesn't even show up. I haven't changed the lot at all and I don't have mods. Playing on PC. Extremely disappointed as this was a major feature for me.

this is still happening for some thrift tea stores that had the issue before the patch.

Please see solution in the first post for a workaround.

It's an issue I've been experiencing for months now. Bobba/thrift store vendor does not show up at the lot.

The boba tea counter does not spawn any workers. When you click on the counter, you cannot request for any workers to spawn or cannot interact with it at all. Even after I have repaired my game, exit out of the lot and enter back in or try to access it through a new save file, it does not work. Neither the notification about having the ability to grab boba tea does not come up. Only the message for us to try and create new trends is sent.
