If I have The Sims 4 Base game on both Steam and Origin, will my DLC work?
I have the Sims 4 on Origin, but now that the base game is free, I added it to my Steam library. I received a Steam currency gift card as a gift by mistake instead of an Origin/EA gift card. I would like to use my gift card to purchase a Sims 4 DLC but I do not want to purchase it on Steam if it will not link to my Origin version of The Sims 4 because all of my other DLC was also bought through Origin.
@simluver101 Hello! I don't use Steam but it is my understanding that if you own content through Steam, then you would need to launch the game from Steam in order to see that content. You would need to uninstall the Origin base-game and then install the Steam base-game version. Then, install the rest of your DLC through Origin so that all of your Origin owned content is available. You could continue to purchase TS4 DLC through Origin (or the EA app) and download it but you would still need to launch from Steam in order to see all of it in the game.
Just thinking about this logically, it might be better to use your Steam gift card for another game and continue using Origin (or the EA app) for TS4. That's really just me interjecting my personal opinion though. It's totally up to you how to proceed of course. I hope this helps!
