@JuniperWhimsyI agree with you. Base Game Infants are absolutely superior because they actually can live. I honestly have changed my opinion about Growing Together from "it's a good pack" to "I hate this, it's broken trash" entirely based on how broken the infants & milestones are.
I am on child 6 of a legacy family. It's been months since the pack came out. I play long life span & this generation I have 2 infants. Both parents are spending their entire lives tummy time, practice to crawl & nothing else. It is day 18 & neither infant can crawl. The gear showed up when they were 10 days old! We have spent WEEKS grinding. I do not know why this is so broken but this is literally broken. This isn't some BS "be patient" nonsense. I was patient a month ago. Now I am honestly furious. Angry to a point of rage. If a key feature of the pack is impossible to achieve the pack should NEVER have been released. Period. The infants shouldn't have been released this broken.
There needs to be an ingame cheat to give an infant all milestones. I want Base Game fully upgraded infants while playing the pack I paid $40 for. I can't disable the pack just to make the children less aweful, at that point EA owes me $40 because the entire pack is unplayable. You shouldn't have to disable a pack the day you buy it to be able to play the game. Didn't we all learn that from the Wedding Stories mess?
EDIT: Both my parents are Parenting Lv 10. This is not a parenting level issue.
EDIT: I play only vanilla on PC. I have never used any mods or cc I object to them on principle. Are there ANY mods that can make my terrible infants actually playable!? I at a point of rage quitting this game. I want to give them the ability to actually do everything when they age up to infants from the moment they age up. I want Base Game Infants while still having Growing Together. Can ANYONE HELP ME!?
I’m wondering how sure people are that their infant actually practiced crawling all those times they were told to practice crawling. I’ve noticed that despite Sims’ need to keep picking infants up and putting them down, for this one action they never seem to carry them when they actually need to. If your Sim walks away from the infant and sits on the floor while the infant scoots toward them - this is not practicing crawling. This is the infant chasing after the adult because the actual practice crawling can’t start until the infant reaches whatever location the adult picked. Which they almost never do before the adult quits waiting. I’ve made a bug report.
It completely breaks storytelling, but so far the only infant I’ve had successfully learn to crawl was the one where I got fed up and made a little jail cell to lock mom & infant in together so mom couldn’t walk away. It only took a couple practices once I teleported them in there.
Side note… don’t teleport infants while they’re in the play mat…

I can confirm that my parent sims are in fact doing the actions. I make sure of it. Every second they can I’ve had them “practice crawling” and when the parents are busy with their other kids (they have two sets of twins) I have the infants doing tummy time on their own.
Out of all four children only one has gotten the milestone for crawling. I have them on long lifespan, and both my parents have maxed the parenting skill.
I definitely think this is a bug and should be reported. I would do it myself but idk how, lol. I almost never use the forum.
